CHORDO
Euclidean Rhythmical Chord Progression Machine
CHORDO is a harmonic chord sequencer and built-in synthesizer for macOS. Drop it on a MIDI track, build a progression by dragging chord degrees (I–VII) into up to 8 slots, pick a root and scale, and CHORDO plays the rhythmical chords with euclidean pattern generator, or write your own pattern. If you want you can play any other vst or hardware synth by getting the midi information from CHORDO. The oscillator, filter, envelope, euclidean rhythm engine, and FX section are all built in, so you can hear the progression immediately without routing to a separate synth. When you are ready to record, capture the MIDI output to another instrument channel. — How to capture CHORDO output in Ableton Live — 1. Create a new MIDI track and load your target instrument (a Kontakt piano, Serum, any synth). 2. In that instrument track MIDI From dropdown, select the track CHORDO is on. 3. Set the second dropdown to below Post FX CHORDO (the plugin, not the track). 4. Set Monitor to In. 5. Arm the instrument track for recording, or set Monitor to In without arming to hear it live. 6. Press play — CHORDO drives the instrument track with its chord output. Hit record to capture the MIDI as a clip. You can route CHORDO to multiple instrument tracks simultaneously by repeating steps 1–5 for each target. Each track receives the same MIDI stream and can run a different instrument. Per-step scale overrides let each slot lock to its own mode — one progression can shift tonal centre mid-phrase without automation. The 8-step sequencer loops with selectable bar length (1–8 bars), and every parameter is automatable.
What it does
- 8-step chord progression with drag-and-drop reordering
- Per-step: degree (I–VII), chord type, duration, root transpose, scale override
- 24 scales — each sequencer slot can lock to a different mode
- Built-in oscillator (SIN/TRI/SAW/SQR/PLS), filter, ADSR, and FX
- Euclidean rhythm engine — draw patterns with per-step velocity, length and microtiming
- Sample-accurate MIDI output — every note lands exactly on the beat, no timing drift
- Trance gate, delay, and reverb built in
- Routes MIDI output to any instrument track in your DAW
- All parameters automatable — works as a full MIDI effect or standalone synth
